Big perfume, dry finish.
Traminer is a relative of Gewürztraminer, and it brings the same heady aromas with a dry finish. Lush fruit, spice and a silky feel make it just as good with spicy food as on its own.
Tastes like: Lychee and rose, with ginger, honeydew and a little nutmeg.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with balanced freshness and no oak.
Great with: Moroccan tagine, roast duck with plum sauce, soft cheeses.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Laksa, Thai curry, nasi lemak.
The geeky bit: Traminer from Puiatti’s estate vineyards on clay and limestone soils. Low yields, picked by hand.
Why we like it: Aromatic but dry. Traminer with elegance and structure.
Serve: 10 to 12°C. Straight from the fridge is a touch too cold; give it a few minutes in the glass.
Alcohol: 12.5%
