Chardonnay for modern palates.
From northern Tasmania, Pepik Chardonnay is a fresh, modern style that skips the heavy oak and leans on bright acidity and clean fruit. Pepik was Josef Chromy’s Czech nickname, and the range is all about youthful energy.
Tastes like: Crisp lemon, white peach and nectarine, with a delicate nutty note.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with bright freshness and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Grilled scallops, roast chicken, creamy mushroom pasta, a herby potato salad.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Chicken rice, miso cod, steamed scallops with garlic.
The geeky bit: Chardonnay from the Tamar Valley, where the cool, maritime climate gives a long ripening season and keeps the natural acidity. Sustainable vineyard practices and minimal intervention in the cellar.
Why we like it: Light on oak, big on character.
Serve: 10 to 12°C. Straight from the fridge is a touch too cold; give it a few minutes in the glass.
Alcohol: 12.5%
