Dry, bright Marlborough pink made from Pinot Noir.
Babich is one of Marlborough’s long-established family wineries, and this rosé is made from estate-grown Pinot Noir. It is dry and bright, with delicate floral notes and zesty cranberry fruit. This is the 2020 vintage, so it has some bottle age.
Tastes like: Raspberry, cranberry and rosewater, with grapefruit and a pinch of white pepper.
Feels like: Light-bodied and dry, with bright freshness and no oak.
Great with: Grilled prawns, beet salad, goat cheese crostini.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Sashimi, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, chicken satay.
The geeky bit: Estate-grown Pinot Noir from Marlborough, on free-draining alluvial soils. Babich describes its viticulture as sustainable.
Why we like it: Bright, crisp and well made. A very versatile rosé.
Serve: 8 to 10°C. Well chilled.
Alcohol: 12.5%
