Dessert in a glass.
Sese is a golden passito made from sun-dried Zibibbo grapes on the island of Pantelleria. A dream of apricot, fig and salted caramel, sweet but never cloying. Comes in a 500ml bottle.
Tastes like: Dried apricot, fig and candied orange peel, with saffron and almond brittle.
Feels like: Full-bodied and sweet, with balanced freshness and no oak.
Great with: Foie gras, blue cheese, almond cake, salted caramel tart.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Pineapple tarts, mango sticky rice, egg tarts.
The geeky bit: Zibibbo from terraced vineyards on the volcanic rock of Pantelleria. The grapes are dried in the sun on mats, the traditional way.
Why we like it: Decadent, rare and hard to forget.
Serve: 8 to 10°C. Well chilled.
Alcohol: 14%
