Golden Tokaji sweetness with a bright finish.
Oremus is the Tokaj estate of the Vega Sicilia family. Aszú is made from grapes shrivelled by noble rot and picked berry by berry. 3 Puttonyos is the lighter, fresher end of the Aszú range: properly sweet, but lifted by Tokaj’s trademark acidity.
Tastes like: Dried apricot, honey, orange peel and quince.
Feels like: Full-bodied and sweet, with bright freshness and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Blue cheese, foie gras, fruit tarts, almond desserts. Or simply on its own after dinner.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Egg tarts, pineapple tarts, mango pudding.
The geeky bit: From volcanic soils around Tolcsva in Tokaj, where autumn mists bring the noble rot this style depends on.
Why we like it: A sweet wine that never feels heavy. One small glass ends a dinner perfectly.
Serve: 8 to 10°C. Well chilled.
Alcohol: 11%
