Dry, grown-up bubbles for people who find Prosecco too sweet.
Puiatti’s Blanc de Blancs is 100% Chardonnay, made by the classic method and finished Extra Brut, so it is properly dry. Soft in the mouth, with fine, persistent bubbles.
Tastes like: Lemon zest and green apple, with white flowers and bread crust.
Feels like: Light-bodied, bone dry bubbles, with bright freshness and no oak.
Great with: Oysters, smoked salmon, soft cheeses. Or as an aperitif.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Tempura, sashimi, dim sum.
The geeky bit: From Puiatti’s vineyards in Friuli, in Italy’s north-east, an area known for precise, mineral whites. The second fermentation happens in the bottle, as in Champagne.
Why we like it: A dry, serious sparkler that still knows how to have fun.
Serve: 6 to 8°C. Well chilled.
Alcohol: 12.5%
