Bottle-fermented bubbles without the Champagne price.
Banfi Brut is made by the classic method, the same bottle-fermentation technique used in Champagne, at Banfi’s cellars in Piedmont. Fragrant on the nose, fresh and crisp on the palate.
Tastes like: Green apple, citrus and toasted bread, with a mineral note.
Feels like: Medium-bodied, dry bubbles, with balanced freshness and no oak.
Great with: Oysters, fried snacks, light seafood dishes. Or just as an aperitif.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Sashimi, tempura, spring rolls.
The geeky bit: Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Noir from Banfi’s estate in Piedmont, north-west Italy, where cooler hillside sites suit sparkling wine.
Why we like it: Proper bottle-fermented fizz with real toastiness, at a friendly price.
Serve: 6 to 8°C. Well chilled.
Alcohol: 12.5%
