Tuscan coast in a glass: floral, fresh and a little salty.
La Pettegola is Banfi’s Vermentino, and it is all about fun. Exotic fruit, lemon-lime brightness and a crisp, seaside minerality.
Tastes like: Pineapple, citrus peel and white peach, with sage and sea spray.
Feels like: Light-bodied and dry, with bright freshness and no oak.
Great with: Grilled calamari, pesto pasta, snapper ceviche, burrata.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Steamed fish with ginger and soy, cereal prawns, sashimi.
The geeky bit: Vermentino from coastal vineyards in the Maremma, on limestone and sand soils.
Accolades: 90 pts James Suckling
Why we like it: Vibrant, coastal and pure summer. Good with food, good with friends.
Serve: 8 to 10°C. Well chilled.
Alcohol: 13%
