Domaine Plou & Fils has farmed in Touraine for generations. Authenticus is its structured, full-bodied Chardonnay, with rich aromas of butter and banana and hints of almond, hazelnut and apricot.
Tastes like: Butter and banana, with almond, hazelnut and apricot.
Feels like: Full-bodied and dry, with balanced freshness and oak in the background.
Great with: Roast chicken, creamy fish dishes, lobster, soft cheeses.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Salted egg prawns, chicken rice, miso cod.
The geeky bit: Chardonnay from Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley, a region better known for Sauvignon Blanc.
Why we like it: Something different from the Loire, with plenty of richness.
Serve: 10 to 12°C. Straight from the fridge is a touch too cold; give it a few minutes in the glass.
