A generous, no-fuss Italian red for pizza night.
Montepulciano is the signature red grape of Abruzzo, on Italy’s Adriatic coast. Deep in colour and soft in texture, with plenty of dark fruit and a gentle, spicy finish.
Tastes like: Dark cherry, plum and blackberry, with a touch of pepper.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with soft tannins, balanced freshness and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Pizza, lasagne, grilled sausages, burgers.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Char siew, satay, beef hor fun.
The geeky bit: Montepulciano from Abruzzo, in central Italy, between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic Sea.
Why we like it: Does exactly what you want on a weeknight.
Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
Alcohol: 14.5%
