The 2017 Haut-Brion is a masterclass in restraint and refinement. Less opulent than 2015 or 2016, it’s a vintage that celebrates balance, structure, and slow-blooming complexity. Expect earthy fruit, spice, and elegant tannins that frame every sip like a silk-lined suit.
Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend with Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc. Though still youthful, it’s showing flashes of brilliance and will continue to evolve for decades.
Tasting Notes:
Blackberry, tobacco leaf, cedar, crushed gravel, plum skin.

Beef tenderloin, lamb shank, wild mushroom tart, or roasted pheasant.

Why We Like It:
It’s Haut-Brion—need we say more? A study in controlled power and quiet nobility.
