Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s best-known houses, and Couvent des Jacobins is its regional Pinot Noir. Pure red fruit, freshness and a silky feel, with a little barrel ageing in the background. Smooth and easy to enjoy young.
Tastes like: Cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, with cranberry, a little spice and an earthy note.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with soft tannins, bright freshness and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Roast chicken, duck breast, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, charcuterie, Comté.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Roast duck rice, teriyaki salmon, yakitori.
The geeky bit: 100% Pinot Noir from vineyards across Burgundy, including the Côte d’Or, the Côte Chalonnaise and Irancy. Limestone soils and a cool climate give the freshness. Part of the wine is aged in barrel.

Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
