Your anytime red.
Merlot usually plays second fiddle to Malbec in Argentina. Not here. Norton’s Reserva Merlot is full of plummy richness, soft tannins and subtle spice. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak.
Tastes like: Ripe red plum and blackberry compote, with a touch of cocoa and light spice.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with soft tannins, balanced freshness and oak in the background.
Great with: Grilled pork, chicken parmigiana, truffle pasta.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Char siew rice, braised pork belly buns, teriyaki chicken.
The geeky bit: Merlot from high vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, on alluvial soils.
Why we like it: Easy-going, with plenty of charm. Norton makes it look effortless.
Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
Alcohol: 14%
