This Syrah from Fatascia is a bold, juicy red with Mediterranean flair. Ripe and expressive, with smooth tannins and just the right kick of spice. Rich and fresh at the same time.
Tastes like: Blackberry and black pepper, with rosemary, dark chocolate and a smoky, meaty note.
Feels like: Full-bodied and dry, with a bit of grip, balanced freshness and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Lamb kebabs, eggplant caponata, grilled chorizo, BBQ ribs.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Lamb satay, black pepper beef, Korean BBQ.
The geeky bit: Syrah from western Sicily, where a warm Mediterranean climate ripens the grapes fully and sea breezes keep them fresh.
Why we like it: Full-bodied but fresh, with real Sicilian character.
Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
