The barbecue red. Soft, juicy and built for a crowd.
Riverside Landing Shiraz comes from South Australia, home turf of Aussie Shiraz. It is all ripe fruit and easy drinking: no need to think too hard, just pour. Made to be enjoyed young.
Tastes like: Plum and mixed berries, with a little pepper and spice at the end.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with soft tannins, gentle acidity and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Barbecued meat, burgers, pizza, pasta with meat sauce.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Satay also can. So can char siew and Korean BBQ.
The geeky bit: Shiraz from vineyards across South Australia, where warm days ripen the grapes fully.
Why we like it: A crowd-pleasing red at a party price. Buy it by the case.
Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
Alcohol: 13%
