Classic California Chardonnay.
STEL+MAR Chardonnay is medium-bodied, with apple, pear and tropical fruit and a little vanilla from oak ageing. Rich without being heavy, so it works on its own or with dinner.
Tastes like: Apple, pear and pineapple, with vanilla and buttered toast.
Feels like: Medium-bodied and dry, with gentle acidity and oak in the background.
Great with: Roast chicken, creamy mushroom pasta, grilled lobster.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Salted egg prawns, chicken rice, miso cod.
The geeky bit: Chardonnay from sunny California vineyards, where cool nights help keep the balance. Aged in oak.
Why we like it: Creamy, elegant and very food-friendly.
Serve: 10 to 12°C. Straight from the fridge is a touch too cold; give it a few minutes in the glass.
