Argentina’s favourite grape, in its Sunday best.
Privada Family Malbec is a tribute to the winery’s founding family. Made from old vines in Luján de Cuyo and aged in French oak, it is intensely aromatic, lush in texture and velvety smooth.
Tastes like: Violets, black cherry and cassis, with mocha.
Feels like: Full-bodied and dry, with a bit of grip, balanced freshness and oak in the background.
Great with: Chargrilled ribeye, lamb shank with chimichurri, smoky eggplant, a celebration steak dinner.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Wagyu yakiniku, beef rendang, cumin lamb skewers.
The geeky bit: Malbec from selected old-vine parcels in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, on deep alluvial soils. Aged in French oak.
Why we like it: Deep, expressive and hard to forget.
Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
Alcohol: 15%
