Syrah, by way of the Tuscan coast.
Podereadua is a rare thing: a Tuscan Syrah with Rhône-like structure and coastal brightness. Black fruit, violets and a touch of smokiness. Wild and graceful at the same time.
Tastes like: Blackberry and white pepper, with lavender, rosemary and a smoky, meaty note.
Feels like: Full-bodied and dry, with a bit of grip, balanced freshness and a light touch of oak.
Great with: Grilled lamb, pepper-crusted tuna, duck breast, sharp cheddar.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Black pepper beef, lamb satay, Peking duck.
The geeky bit: Syrah planted on sand and silt near the coast. Organic farming and gentle oak ageing.
Accolades: 91 pts Falstaff
Why we like it: Savoury, silky and satisfying.
Serve: 16 to 18°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first.
Alcohol: 14.5%
