Antico Rosone is simple, refreshing and ready to go with almost anything. Pale straw in colour, with floral notes and a citrus lift. Keep one cold in the fridge for a sunny lunch, a seafood feast or Tuesday-night pasta.
Tastes like: Lemon peel, white flowers and green apple, with a hint of almond.
Feels like: Light-bodied and dry, with balanced freshness and no oak.
Great with: Grilled calamari, Caesar salad, pesto pasta, steamed fish.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Chicken rice, steamed prawns, fried bee hoon.
The geeky bit: An unoaked blend of Malvasia, Moscato and Trebbiano from Emilia-Romagna, made by Caviro.
Why we like it: No frills, no fuss. A crisp, dry white that always delivers.
Serve: 8 to 10°C. Well chilled.
