Pineau des Charentes is made by blending fresh grape juice with Cognac, then ageing it in oak. Beaulon’s five-year-old red is rich and fruity, at around 18% alcohol.
Tasting Notes:
Black cherry, raspberry jam, prune, sweet spice.
How to Enjoy:
Well chilled as an aperitif, or with chocolate desserts, blue cheese or foie gras.
Producer & Origin:
From Château de Beaulon’s estate in the Charentes, the home of Cognac.
Why We Like It:
The aperitif the Cognac families drink at home. Hard to find in Singapore.
