Cabernet with character, at a friendly price.
Not your average Cab. Nortonβs Reserva is full of South American swagger: ripe cassis, a minty freshness and a spicy finish. French oak adds complexity, and lively acidity keeps everything tidy.
Tastes like: Blackcurrant and dark cherry, with cedar, eucalyptus, tobacco leaf and baking spice.
Feels like: Full-bodied and dry, with firm, drying grip, balanced freshness and oak in the background.
Great with: Steak frites, lamb chops, mushroom lasagne.
Singapore and Asian favourites: Black pepper beef, Korean galbi, beef rendang.
The geeky bit: Hand-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon from LujΓ‘n de Cuyo, Mendoza, from vineyards at 950 to 1,100 metres on stony soils. Aged in French oak.
Why we like it: Structure, spice and soul.
Serve: 16 to 18Β°C. Room temperature in Singapore is too warm for red wine, so give it 20 minutes in the fridge first. Decant 30 to 60 minutes.
Alcohol: 14%
